This project applies geotechnologies to elucidate cause-effect relationships in animal husbandry and processes involved in green-house gases (GHG) dynamics, generating information which might provide subsidies for economic and environmental sustainable management decisions.

In order to attain specific objectives, in synchrony with other Component Projects, this project uses a multi-scale approach. It contemplates the actualization of the national map of pastures and will be an information platform for mathematical modeling of production processes and socio-economic evaluations. A geo-referenced database is under construction to identify, including localization and dimension, all PECUS' experimental areas. This will allow the indication of the most adequate remote sensing platform, considering mainly the dimension of these areas. Analysis based on remote sensing data will include also temporal and spatial variation in reflectance or vegetation indexes.
